The Necessity of Garden Shelter
One of the ways to earn extra income is to grow plants in your backyard and sell them during garden fairs or use them on landscaping projects. Depending on the site of your garden, and the weather in your area, you can either grow flowering plants or go for the decorative types. Too much rain or too much heat coming from the sunlight is not good for plants. You must have a garden shelter to decrease rain and sunshine without increasing your expenses.
Replacement for a Greenhouse
The perfect solution to this would be to make a greenhouse. But this is not a realistic solution to many beginners. The alternative solution would be to make a garden shade using netting. This may not be as effective as a greenhouse, but it can reduce rain and sunlight to make it just enough for the plants to grow.
The following are the uses of the netting shelter:
Minimize sunlight and protection from the rain – There are plants that prefer a humid environment rather than a warm one. To prevent it from being exposed directly to sunlight, the netting shelter will allow the right amount of shade for plants to develop. It lets enough sunlight for the plants to do photosynthesis. The netting also serves as a protection when there is heavy rain. Upon placing the net, the direct rainfall is trapped by the netting and only tiny drops of rain are what ultimately find their way into the plants. The plants in turn have enough space to take in the water.
Shelter from shed-off leaves and debris – another function of the netting is to capture the leaves that are shed off in the garden. Typically a garden will still have trees nearby and these trees will have leaves that will fall. When these leaves are not caught, they land on the plants where they are exposed to rain and sunlight. Subsequently, these leaves decompose and a potential exists for either plant destruction or attraction of pathogenic organisms to the healthy plants. Another function is shelter from the falling branches. There is an abundance of coconut trees in tropical countries and all too often suddenly drops from the main palm and it can cause plant death if not arrested by the netting. This holds true not only for the coconuts but for large trees as well. Without the netting, heavy and broken branches can flatten your plants. With the netting, the falling branches are kept away from the plants you planted.
Gardening beginners may not have to pay out for a huge greenhouse. By reason of the uses cited above, a garden shelter with netting will function successfully just like a greenhouse. The netting can serve as protection against excess sunlight and excessive rain while it keeps away falling leaves and large branches from the plants.
